1. Promote health and fitness 5th grade students fitness levels will be tested using the the FitnessGram. We will have a pre-test in the Fall and a post-test in the Spring. The tests include Pacer Run, Push-ups, Curl-ups, Sit-Reach, trunk lift, and Body Mass Index (BMI). The 5th grade students will also take a cognitive fitness test in the spring. All grades will participate in games and activities that promote fitness.
2. Develop coordination through participation in a variety of motor activities and sport skills. Instruction is given on proper technique for basic skills such as running, dribbling, kicking, throwing, catching, racket skills, rhythms, jump rope, and more.
3. Encourage the development of positive character and social traits. We stress safety, sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, self-control and respect for self and others. Doing your personal best is emphasized. 4. Success for Everyone!
